Alkali Resource Management Areas of Operation
ARM uses an area management system to effectively manage the Esk'etemc lands and tenures. These areas are divided among two area supervisors who are responsible for overseeing all phases of land management from recce to harvesting.
With the current change in trends of wildfires in the province ARM is currently in the process of identifying which areas are at most risk for wildfire activity. To reduce the risk to Esk'etemc community ARM has developed a Wildfire Risk Management Plan and are actively reducing the risk in the identified areas outline on the below map. These activities range from removing understory trees and thinning the forest with harvesting equipment to reduce the forest fuels.
